4 Pro Tips to Find the Perfect Comfortable Wedding Shoes

You’ve chosen your dress and you’re ready to dip your toe into the world of bridal shoes. Perhaps you’re looking for something classic and timeless - or maybe you want something a bit more daring and stand-out? No matter the style, one thing's for sure. Your shoes need to be comfortable and ready to carry you through your first “spin” as a Mrs.!

Choosing your bridal shoes is an exciting process and we recommend that you only start looking at footwear, once you’ve chosen your dress. It's not uncommon for brides to discover a style of dress they’d never considered before and when they do, a whole new world of shoe choices opens up to them.

Once you do have your dress though, shoes should be soon on your to-do list! You will want to have your shoes & undergarments once you're ready to fit your dress.

Think about your Dress Length

If your dress sweeps the floor, a brooch or diamante design on the toes might get caught up or cause an irregular shape in the hem. Dresses which are cut slightly shorter allow for a sparkling floral detail or striking brooch. Picture yourself gracing the dance floor and be sure to try your dress and shoes on together, before the big day.

Consider the Day’s Itinerary

If you’re hoping to play garden games or walk a considerable distance for your photos, it might be prudent to consider a lower heel. Slim heels may not suit a garden wedding and a chunky heel might look out of place at a luxury hotel. Visualize the setting and how you’ve always imagined yourself looking. If there are grand steps to walk down, what type of shoe do you want to peek out at the bottom of your dress?

Wear Them In before the Wedding

Before you don your shoes for your wedding day, try wearing them around the house first. This will alert you to any areas that may rub and give you time to wear the shoes in. It’s also worth practising walking and dancing in your new shoes, to ensure that you don’t stumble or trip your way down the aisle.

Comfortable Enough to Dance In?

Most brides want an amazing pair of designer shoes to walk in down the aisle and get that ever coveted “shoe shot” that’s popular in wedding albums today. However, it’s a good idea to buy another stylish pair of wedding shoes that won’t kill your feet on the dance floor. Look for a functional, comfortable pair that have a similar heel height. Unlike flats and flip flops, you’ll want dance shoes that offer good support, prevent sweat and slippage, and will stay on your feet. And although sneakers are comfortable by design, they are, well, sneakers. Keep in mind this moment will be captured in pictures forever so you’ll want to look and feel your best.
