2021 brought sweeping changes to how we feel about shopping, and just about everything we do in person, so we're unpacking everything you wanted to know about trunk shows, specifically wedding accessory trunk shows, plus 3 reasons to say yes to one, even during these times of social distancing.

What IS a trunk show, anyway? 

Designer & wedding gown trunk shows are common, but brides rarely think about a bridal accessory trunk show- IS THIS A THING?

Sure is! It's a great way to find ideas and inspiration for your dream wedding look; and maybe go home with the perfect finishing touches for your day.

The designer packs "trunks" with the latest collection & sends to bridal salons for a limited time event, often including perks like exclusive designs, designer appearances & discounts - what's not to love?

1. Selection, selection, and did we say, selection? 

Although many brides-to-be around the world have been limiting trips outside of their households and turning to their screens for their bridal fashion needs since March 2020, nothing compares to being able to take advantage of a designer's trunk show.

Bridal trunk shows are a great way to browse a full selection. In fact, most bridal salons increase their selection by at least double in preparation for trunk shows. At these events, you'll see more wedding veils, bridal headpieces and jewelry all in one place and have the opportunity to try on a full look from wedding veil to bridal jewelry.

It's a one-stop shopping experience that includes trying before you buy and getting the full effect with proper mirrors and lighting to style your wedding day look. Making one shopping trip outside your home and by appointment is an efficient way to shop and style your bridal look all at once with the help of a bridal expert.

2. Dedicated time for the details

Oodles of focus & anticipation goes into selecting "the" gown, but it can be overwhelming to decide on all the finishing touches when saying "yes to the dress". Not to mention, there's rarely time during a gown appointment to do it all.

Yet it's those finishing touches that truly make the bridal gown your own, adding your unique personal take based on your style, wedding theme & setting. 

Taking time to style your ensemble as an expression of your self makes wearing it that much more special. A dedicated appointment to select your finishing touches is an experience that saves a lot of time in the long run, and reaps dividends on your wedding day when you can rock a look that's uniquely yours and feel great about your choices.

Have you searched online and found elements of different bridal veils you like (or jewelry, headpiece, wedding sash) - but not quite everything you love in one piece?

With so much to choose from, there’s a good chance you’ll find perfection at a trunk show. If not, maybe explore a custom creation made just for you. Stores are often able to place special requests with designers before the trunk show, so a custom selection can be sent for the bride to view.
